Mason Law Firm has traditionally focused its practice to the representation of management in the areas of labor, employment, and OSHA. Due to client demand, we recently welcomed a seasoned construction lawyer to handle the myriad of construction claims from many of our contractor clients. By focusing on these niche practice areas, we are able to maintain a depth of knowledge and breadth of experience that is not usually found in a larger, full service firms.

Experienced 

The founder of the firm, Ronald Mason, was formerly an attorney with the National Labor Relations Board. He has worked for some of the largest, most successful firms in the region before beginning Mason Law Firm several years ago. His experience and insight into how the NLRB works, allows members of the firm to analyze labor problems from an angle very few labor lawyers possess.

Like Ron, Bill Dulaney has decades of legal experience, although Bill’s experience has focused on construction. Bill grew up in a construction family, and was a project manager before attending law school. Since then, he has represented construction contractors while working with large, national law firms. His family background, education, job-site work experience, and many years of construction law expertise allow him to stand out among other construction lawyers.

Matt Austin, who previously worked for a highly respected regional firm, is one of a very select few attorneys who has completed the course work and passed the test to obtain a United States Department of Labor sanctioned OSHA 10-hour card. He is adept at working with human resource departments, training managers, and proactively keeping companies compliant with the ever-changing employment laws. Matt has also represents companies in union avoidance, negotiations, and NLRB proceedings.

Aaron Tulencik is an experienced litigator, having worked for a national law firm before joining Mason Law Firm. Aaron has tremendous complex litigation management experience in addition to his thorough knowledge of labor law issues. He works on union negotiations, handles unfair labor practice charges, and litigates before the NLRB.

Whether through developing policies, handbooks, or union avoidance strategies, we partner with our client to proactively assure that their companies are managed the way they want them to be managed.

Successful 

Success in the labor and employment arena is frequently measured by whether lawsuits or government agency charges were dismissed before going to trial. Using this measuring stick, Mason Law Firm is almost perfect. The vast majority of government agency charges that have been handled by our attorneys have been summarily discharged and the lawsuit claims that have not been discharged were settled to the acceptance of our clients.

Unfortunately, the greatest employment law achievement is not quantifiable. How do you measure the amount of money a law firm can proactively save a client through proper management training, handbook preparation, regular consultations, and advising clients before terminating employees? Due to our level of client satisfaction in this area, we are confident that our greatest achievements are recognized and appreciated by our clients.

Labor law achievements, on the other hand, are more readily identifiable. For example, in the past few years, our win rate in union elections is 87%. That is, when a union has sought to organize a company through an NLRB election, our clients stay non-union 87% of the time - this compares to a national average of only 48%. We are successful because of our experience. Plain and simple, we know how to win.

We also routinely advise unionized companies on their rights when a majority of their employees no longer wish to have union representation. Proper legal guidance during this process is extremely important, and our experience will help you successfully navigate the many hidden areas where unrepresented companies make mistakes.
